OVERVIEW
Ninhbinh is nick-named as Kingdom of Limestone with the relics of the ancient capital, Hoa Lu – the remains are the temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the two heroes who lived in 10th century and chose Hoa Lu to build the citadel of this ancient capital city. From time to time, archaeologists have excavated buried parts of this citadel with rusty weapons and ceramics. Two temples were built on the old foundation of their original palaces dated back 11-12th centuries and had great restoration in 17th century. Away to the south is Tam Coc that means Three Grottos landscapes. It is nick-named Halong-Bay-In-Land or Halong-Bay-on-rice-field. Relax and enjoy the fantastic nature here on a small sampan boat is highlight of this tour.

DETAIL ITINERARY
You should depart your hotel early to avoid big crowd in Tamcoc. On the way, you can see peaceful countryside of Vietnam with villages, rice fields, water buffalos… On arrival at Tamcoc, you will get on a sampan boat (for 2 people only) to row along beautiful river and enjoy marvelous nature here; people said that this is the meeting point of Heaven and Earth. Really, it looks like another Halong bay, but all of them are on rice fields!
On the way back, we will stop at Thai Vi temple to walk around and enjoy quiet, peaceful atmosphere here, you may be overwhelming by the scenery of this region. It is just like a legendary landscape!
After 2,5 hour boat trip and walking in Thaivi temple region, the lunch is ready for you with local specialties. In the afternoon, we head to Hoalu, the ancient capital of Vietnam from 968 to 1010. However, after a long time, the capital doesn’t remain much for you to see, what you can see is temples of the Kings who ruled Vietnam during the time capital of Vietnam located here.
The temples lie in the center of Hoalu, surrounded by high limestone mountains which served as natural citadels to protect Royal City. You will walk around and if you like, you can climb up a mount nearby to have a great view of the region. Then turn back our car to drive back Hanoi. Finish our trip at your hotel in the late afternoon.
